TwInbox was originally named OutTwit. It is an Outlook plugin that integrates Twitter into the Outlook interface. From the TwInbox website:
If you are a Microsoft® Outlook® user, you probably have it open all the time. Now you can have a fully-featured, powerful Twitter client at your fingertips without having to open any other applications. TwInbox seamlessly integrates Twitter into Outlook. It is a perfect Twitter client for any Outlook user, from a Twitter newbie to a business professional.
When they say seamless, they mean it. Your tweets appear right in your inbox, and you can archive and search the same way you manage regular email. Reply, Reply to All, Forward all work the exact same for tweets as emails, and there are standard twitter buttons such as D, @, and RT. TwInbox is an efficiency app, since you are eliminating a separate twitter client.
With clever use of AutoArchive and SearchFolders, you can have a virtual office running on Twitter. If the Outlook interface is familiar to someone, they might have an easier time adapting to twitter's information stream if they see it in a familiar interface.
Another advantage of piggy-backing on the Outlook interface is the ability to use Twitter discretely, in case you are not supposed to be getting your twit-fix at work!
TwInbox is being updated all the time by the active development team. They're available on Twitter @TechHit
