Tweetings (for Desktop)

Tweetings is a small, secure Twitter client for Windows. It has a compact interface that scoots out of the way when you minimize to the system tray.

  • Secure - Tweetings uses OAuth to connect to Twitter, which allows you to grant access to your Twitter account without storing your password in their program ().
  • Standard Features like friends stream, @ mentions, DMs, public timeline search. Follow and unfollow users.
  • Helper Apps - URL shortening is available through tinyurl, bit.ly, is.gd, and tr.im. Photo uploading is available through twitpic and yfrog.
  • Customization - choose between two color schemes. Adjust transparency of the main window. You can choose to have the familiar speech bubble format, or just linear rows for each tweet. Choose to use the built-in web browser, or have it default to the preferred browser on your computer.
  • Twitpic Preview - when you view a twitpic.com link, it only loads the picture, instead of the whole website.
  • Facebook integration is available via Facebook Connect. It works exactly like Selective Twitter Status, except Tweetings provides the option to remove the #fb automatically.

Amazing, Lightning Fast Support!!

While testing this app out, we posted a message about a bug and got a response within seconds. Although they aren't following a whole lot of people, they are watching Twitter for complaints and suggestions. Just throw it out there, or contact them at @tweetingsapp.

Requires .NET Framework 3.5

You may have to update your copy of the .NET framework if you're not in the habit of doing so already. You can do so on the official MSDN website. It ran a little sluggish on my computer from time to time, but it may just be me. If runs great for you, write a comment and let us know.
