DestroyTwitter is a full-featured yet lightweight Adobe AIR twitter app. While many other AIR apps are guilty of being on the pudgy and/or sluggish side, DestroyTwitter is refreshingly responsive. Upon load it starts at about 40MB and after using it for a bit, searching, and loading a couple other columns it only climbed to 61MB. Very good for an AIR app!
Even though the memory footprint is light, it doesn't skimp on features. The app is maintained by Jonnie Hallman, an Experience Designer at Adobe, so that may have something to do with it.
DestroyTwitter can be a single or multi-column app. When in single column mode, switching tabs makes each canvas glide in and out of view fluidly. Same for the tweet box, which slides up out of nowhere when you open it. You can disable the transitions if you want to make DestroyTwitter even leaner. Multi-column mode is turned on by checking "wider workspace" in the preferences, which is three columns wide. No more, no less.
Besides the column layout, DestroyTwitter allows for many other options, such as an "always in front" option, if you want it to constantly float above other apps you have running. You can download color schemes off of the website, and it also provides a tool for creating new themes.
This twitter app is constantly updated with new features and fixes for even small bugs. The author really cares about the quality of this app and it shows. You can follow the author @destroytwitter.
Overall this app is great for experienced users and more technical minded people who appreciate customization. DestroyTwitter gets 5/5 stars for delivering a compact, lightweight yet fully loaded twitter client.

WAY better than tweetdeck & seesmic
Destroy twitter runs fast on my little netbook, kills Tweetdeck and Seesmic performance-wise. This is the best AIR app out there.
