Osfoora friends stream. Click to enlargeOsfoora HD is a great looking, full-featured native iPad Twitter app. It's taken a little while for these iPad apps for Twitter to show up, but with Osfoora the gap is finally closing. They have taken a good iPhone app and made a fantastic iPad app.
Tweetree is an alternative to the web interface at Twitter.com featuring expanded URLs and threaded conversations. Aside from those features, it sports a web interface whose primary difference from twitter.com is skin deep.
Tweetree handles all of the common Twitter streams & features like home, @ mentions, direct messages, and favorites. It has basic search and lets you save your common searches. It has a handy button for retweeting as well.
Echofon for iPhone, formerly TwitterFon, is a super-fast, easy-to-use Twitter app sporting video recording. They changed their name presumably to remove the whole word Twitter out of the app name to avoid trademark trouble. Although the free version is definitely stripped down compared to their $4.99 Pro version, Echofon for iPhone has quite a few features:
TwitBird Pro is a full-featured iPhone Twitter app that supports landscape view for tweets and the inline web browser. As they claim in the App Store description, landscape view is available on pretty much every screen of this iPhone app. If you are a fan of typing or web browsing with a wide screen on the iPhone, this is the twitter app for you!
GeoChirp lets you keep track of people tweeting in any local region. This mashup was created by combining Google Maps and Twitter.
Nambu is a feature-rich Twitter app for Mac OS X that supports many social networks. It offers plenty of configuration options but has simple defaults for beginners. It also has excellent integration with its sister services, tr.im and pic.im
DestroyTwitter is a full-featured yet lightweight Adobe AIR twitter app. While many other AIR apps are guilty of being on the pudgy and/or sluggish side, DestroyTwitter is refreshingly responsive. Upon load it starts at about 40MB and after using it for a bit, searching, and loading a couple other columns it only climbed to 61MB. Very good for an AIR app!
Even though the memory footprint is light, it doesn't skimp on features. The app is maintained by Jonnie Hallman, an Experience Designer at Adobe, so that may have something to do with it.

Tweetings Mobile is a secure, full-featured Twitter app for iPhone and iPod Touch that supports Push Notifications. Although the development company appears to make primarily Windows software, their venture into the iPhone space is very commendable. Tweetings Mobile can do everything Twitter.com allows you to do, including posting tweets, following/unfollowing/blocking users, reading @ mentions and DMs, and public timeline searching.
